Assessment and Reporting
At Southern Grove Primary School, assessment is an ongoing and integral part of the teaching and learning process across all curriculum areas. We carefully design and select assessment strategies to ensure that judgements about student progress are accurate, consistent and support continued learning for every student.
All assessment practices are aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and are used to provide meaningful feedback to students, guide their next steps and inform teacher planning. We recognise the diverse needs of our learners, and assessment approaches are responsive to support individual growth and achievement.
Our teachers work collaboratively to moderate student work, ensuring consistency of judgement and high standards across the school.
We value clear and regular communication with families and provide information about student progress through:
-
A Department of Education formal report issued at the end of each semester
-
Scheduled parent–teacher interviews held twice per year
-
Case conferences, arranged as needed to support individual students
Through these processes, we aim to keep families informed and engaged as partners in their child’s learning journey.
