At Southern Grove Primary School we recognise that children are highly motivated to learn if they are engaged in meaningful experiences and provided with opportunities to make authentic choices about their learning. Through the implementation of the Walker Learning Approach and the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy skills, we are committed to providing children with a seamless and consistent set of practices and strategies that maximise engagement and motivation.

In the middle years, The Western Australian Curriculum prescribed content and skills will be used to plan teaching and learning opportunities that engage, empower and provide ownership and choice for students. We have a relentless focus on all students achieving their personal best in all areas.
