Assessment in all curriculum areas is ongoing throughout the year. Southern Grove Primary School constructs and selects assessments carefully to ensure judgements regarding student progress are consistent and contribute to the ongoing learning for all students.

All assessments will align with the curriculum being delivered and provide feedback to assist students in their learning and inform teacher planning. Assessment will take into consideration the diverse needs of the students.

At Southern Grove, teachers work collaboratively to moderate assessments and ensure consistent judgements are made.

Reporting to parents on student learning will occur using the following formats;

• A Department of Education standard formal report for all students at the end of each semester.

• Parent/Teacher interviews two times each year

• Case conferences as required
